Adrian Ziemichod tops Day 2

Entries 4933/ Left 51

Day 2 of the Italian Poker Sport 52nd edition started at 16:30 on the dot, after a Day 1 I in Turbo format which brought another 117 qualifiers to the second step of this magnificent tournament.

A tournament capable of totaling 4933 entries, exactly 233 less than the European record set last year here in Rozvadov on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.

The Top 5

A total of 659 entered Day 2, but only 51 will have the privilege of playing the final act scheduled for today from 2 p.m. until the winner is announced.

Taking the lead by less than a blind over second in the count is Poland's Adrian Ziemichod (pictured above), thanks to the 10,400,000 in chips he accumulated over the day.

Second place, on the other hand, is reserved for the man who led the count for long stretches of the latter part of the game, Russian Roman Docenko with 10,225,000.

Both players don't exceed $15,000 in gross winnings in live tournaments (source Hendonmob.com, ed.) and we're sure that the €208,000 up for grabs for the winner will be a great boost for both of them, in addition to the uniqueness of the experience itself of reaching such a final table.

Completing the virtual podium is Anh Minh Chu (photo below), of Vietnamese descent despite the Czech flag next to his name and with $44,000 in gross winnings behind him.

Fourth place in the provisional count goes to Portugal's Yaron Turgeman with 9,450,000, followed by Czech Ondrej Mar in fifth with 9,300,000 (with over $300,000 in gross tournament winnings).

Only six Italians qualified for the Final Day: the best of them all was Michele Mercurio with 7,325,000, followed in order by Nicola Sasso (6,675,000), Biagio Morciano (4,575,000), Francesco Pio Russo (3,050,000), Giorgio Soceanu 2,300,000 and Gianpaolo Schiraldi (675,000).

Also in the final act were German Fl_Orian (5,925,000), Day1 E chipleader, and Leonidas Kalaitzidis (5,425,000), Day1 H chipleader. The full list of qualifiers and the Seat Redraw follows.
