In the end, the best, or perhaps the luckiest, won. Let's say that, aside from a decisive coin-flip won where the field was down to 7 players, Vladyslav Pohribnyi deserved more than his opponents to win the record edition of the France Poker Festival.
Flashback: in the small interview he gave at the end of Day 1C, where he closed as chip leader, he confessed that he'd never played at King's and, in general, had only set foot in a casino a few times.
Vladyslav Pohribnyi, a player who came from the online, didn't take long to adapt to the live game and took home the first prestigious success of his career, cashing in a €100,000 prize and dominating the final table despite not starting ahead of the count:
"With the same buy-in, the field is certainly softer, the average technical level found online even at the low stakes is incomparable" - he told us a few days ago. It may be that he was a little bit of everything today, but Vladyslav managed, with deeds, to give consistency to his words.
Among the 48 finalists, Vladyslav started from 15th position with 4,700,000 and after six hours of battle, he was in Seat 8 with the 5th stack out of 9 trying to scoop on the title. So much for his opponents trying hard to stop him.
And now let's review, elimination by elimination, the entire final table.
