Entries 159/Left 22
A new chapter of the IPO Nova Gorica was written this evening at the Perla Resort & Entertainment, where Day 1B took place. Up for grabs for the top 20 finishers was a €1,000 ticket for the IPO Master.
At the close of registration, the number of entries reached 159, 10 more than the previous day, although the number of qualifiers was lower (22).
The best performance of the day goes to Carmela Damaso (photo below), who made great use of the game's final stages, amassing an enormous stack, just over a million in chips. Here’s what she had to say at the end of the day:
“Honestly, I was given the chips earlier… Let’s just say I was smart enough to identify players I knew would pay off my value hands, and that’s exactly what happened. This patch? It’s from the club I’m a member of, in Livorno (Donkey Kong, ed.)… Forza Livorno!”
The Top 5
While Carmela’s Day 1 was outstanding, Fabio Antonio Benincaso, who bagged 673,000 chips (about 150BB at the current level), has no complaints either.
Third place goes to “Sergei Bodrov,” his nickname, with 542,000 chips, while Christoph Hillinger (526,000) and Xu Jiaqiang (518,000) complete the Top 5.
Xu was involved in a 700,000-chip pot, from which he only won a portion. It was a three-way showdown, with the short stack tripling up. You can find the action on our blog at THIS LINK, while below is the full leaderboard, complete with seat redraw for Day 1B.
