It was a tight battle to the last hand so much so that, pretty sure we had spotted the chipleader, we rushed in a few minutes early to get some hot takeaways.

At the table opposite our vantage point, however, the real chipleader of the day (photo below) was engaged in a harmless (at least on the surface) blind war, in which he was defending the big blind with 10-2s.

His opponent, better known online by the nickname 'Angel' (photo below), a Spin&Go pro from Team Evbets led by Dario Quattrucci, was c-betting with Q-Q on the most innocuous texture in history: 10-2-3 rainbow.

What happens in the next few seconds is easily said: BB's 10K bet (we're at T 5,000), SB's raise to 70K, BB's all-in for over 200K and call. The board doesn't match between turn and river as no other Checkers show up on the board and Mario Mošnja finds himself, almost unexpectedly, at the head of the provisional count after cashing a pot of over 100BB right at the photo finish.

A total of 21 players will have a pass for Sunday afternoon's Day2 out of a total of 72 entries (including 28 re-entries).

The Top 5

The one who, according to our clinical eye (but not too much), should have been at the head of the count instead closes in third position with 419,000. This is Christian Tuppinger who amassed just a dozen blinds less than the real chip leader, the aforementioned Mario Mošnja, who instead stuffed 476,000 in the bag.

Second place with just half a blind more than his pursuer for Ettore Ricci at 421,000. Completing the Top5 were Alija Beširević (347,000) and Mattia Valitutto (257,000).

Also qualifying are Francesco Perrupato of the Sport Bull Skill team (10th at 184,000), Roberto Roberti (11th at 182,000) and Lorenzo Acampora (12th at 182,000). Completing the list is Sardinian pro Niccolò Cadoni at 65,000. The complete Day1B count follows.
