Poker Manager in š±š® GCL speaks about the next event
ā²ļø 48 hours left to the start of šŗ The Wolf of Poker at the GC Pokerroom and the curiosity to know something about its preparations is a lot.
We then got in touch with Raphael Schmied the Poker Manager of š±š® Gran Casino Liechtenstein. The 35-year-old Austrian manager has been on the staff of this prestigious location since 2020 and has been leading the poker department for a year. Players got to know him at what is now the Concord Card Casino Kufstein where he earned the floorman position nearly a decade ago. We have also seen him around Europe on major tours as a freelancer dealer. In short, a technically well-prepared figure that Yalcin Dundar has bet on to manage this emerging reality of Poker.
ā¬ļø We asked him a few simple questions ā¬ļø
ER: Raphael, how are you preparing for šŗ The Wolf of Poker High Roller and what kind of response do you expect?
R.S.: We actually prepare in the same way for each event, what can change are the numbers put in place based on the importance of the event and expectations.
At first, we start with the discussions of the schedule. š When the schedule is fixed, the graphics will be designed and the freelancer staff will be invited for the event. š Then we have our internal planning, about chipseries, shift plans for the floor staff, how many tournament tables we have to prepare and many other small details.
We are looking forward to šŗ The Wolf High Roller and we are expecting great action at the tournament and at the šøcash game tables.
For us it is the real warm up for the WPT Prime, scheduled for the next September where we will have a guaranteed š°prizepool of Chf1,000,000.
E.R: Why do you think regular players of GC Liechtenstein š¤¤ like High Roller tournaments? What is your technical opinion on The Wolf instead?
R.S.: Our players like high roller tournaments because they get an important starting stack and they have long levels to play. After the numbers of entries we had for š®š¹ IPO Masters in January, we hope we'll be able to top the numbers of entries in the wolf high roller.
The structure and the formula of the šŗ Wolf High Roller looks very interesting. Also the whole schedule has tournaments with low and high buyins. There are also different type of tournaments, not just no limit holdem - there are also turbo, win the button, bounty and pot limit omaha. So there is something for every kind of player.
