A good five hours of play and all ITMs: that's the verdict from Day2 A which has just concluded here at the Games of Titan poker room, where the Sharkbay Main Event with a ā¬500,000 guaranteed prize pool is taking place.
A total of 74 players restarted at 22:00 split after the Day1 B Speed had sent another 7 players to complete the list of Day2 A qualifiers, and after a bubble phase that lasted over two hours it was finally time for the envelopes, with Simone Alfonso leading the pack thanks to a stack of 1,444,000 chips:
"It all went quite well, especially in the bubble phase where I managed to accumulate a lot of chips by taking advantage of the situation" - said Alfonso at the end of the Day - "I restarted with just over 300,000 and closing at almost a million and a half is an excellent result given Day3.
The bubble phase is often the one in which my tournament takes a precise direction: 4 months ago I managed to win, let's hope that this provisional chip leading is a good omen for reaching the final table!"
The Top 5
Second in the provisional count, despite being at the head of the pack for long stretches, is Michele Lenoci: 1,243,000 for him at the end of the Day, followed by Daniele Puccetti at 1,233,000.
Fourth and fifth places go to Marco Gambini (928,000) and Day1 B chip leader Andrea Ricci (920,000).
Also qualifying for Day3 are Michele Guerrini (418,000) Simone Piazzini (381,000), Giuseppe Rosa (354,000) Domenico Cancro (330,000), and Luca Quarto (311,000).
