Entries 387/ Left 43
The third day of the Euro Poker Million (EPM) festival, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of one million Swiss francs, has now concluded at the GC Poker Room in Bendern, Liechtenstein. It was an especially thrilling day, thanks to the 387 entries that secured another 43 players a spot on Day 2 on Sunday and the exciting Chip Leader Bonuses, which added an extra layer of action towards the end of the day.
As a reminder, the top five stacks today were rewarded with prizes of 8,000, 5,000, 3,500, 2,000, and 1,500 francs, respectively. The Swiss player PetitPrince 1 capitalized best on the situation, finishing with 1,283,000 chips and earning not only the 8,000-franc first-place bonus but also the provisional chip lead:
“The day started quietly, and I gradually climbed the count, building a stack above the average. The hand that changed my tournament was one where I made two pairs with Q-K on a Q-K-x board, and my opponent, after my bet and his raise, decided to call my all-in with K-9.
Thankfully, my hand held, and I won a pot worth 1,200,000 chips in that spot. The rest of the day was about managing the situation. Have I ever finished as the chip leader at a Day 1? Well, I often accumulate a lot of chips during Day 1s; the real issue comes on Day 2! Let’s hope this time I can break the pattern…”
