It took just, so to speak, twelve hours of play to complete the list of the 23 finalists who tomorrow afternoon will compete for the trophy and the €137,000 first prize (plus WSOPE Main Event ticket) reserved for the winner.
It was a battle that began at two o'clock on the dot with 194 players lined up at the tables on the left side of the main poker room, while the 1K high roller tournament was taking place on the right.
The action was supposed to stop at the end of the 27th level or at 24 players left, but thanks to a double elimination on the wire (on two different tables), only 23 players would make it to the Final Day.
The chip leader of the day Aliaksei Chernak
Best of all at the end of the day was Belarusian 🇧🇾Aliaksei Chernak, who will bring a stack of 13,665,000 chips tomorrow: "I ran well, I played well. Everything went well in short!" - commented the day's chip leader.
The Qualifiers
The second-best performance of the day belonged to 🇩🇰Morten Christian Andersson, who closed at 10,620,000, while third place went to Poland's 🇵🇱Karol Radomski with 10,215,000.
The fourth and fifth places are occupied by Germany's 🇩🇪Lucas Kissel with 7,755,000 and Italy's 🇮🇹Giovanni Battista Gaiulli with 6,710,000 chips. Poker Italy can also hope thanks to the trio composed of 🇮🇹Luca Beretta, 15th with 3,640,000, 🇮🇹"Al Pacino" 16th with 2,920,000 and 🇮🇹"Antonio Turrisi" 17th with 2,420,000.
The Hungarian 🇭🇺Sandor Mate closes the ranking with only 282,000 chips, which in fact equals one and a half blinds. Who knows, maybe the saying "one chip one chair" won't come true on this occasion...😜 Chipcount and seat redraw to follow.
