🇭🇷 Mario Vuletic tops ECOP Day1 A!

Writer: Stefano AtzeiStefano Atzei

Entries 19/ Left 3

Day 1A of the European Championship of Poker has come to an end, with 19 total entries producing three qualifiers for Sunday’s Day 2. Attendance was low this Thursday, March 14, but expectations remain high for the weekend, as reservations suggest a much busier field at King’s Resort Rozvadov.

Mario Vuletic from Croatia topped the field, bagging 405,000 chips, narrowly surpassing Romania’s Viorel Gabriel Gavrila, who had held the chip lead for most of the day but finished with 391,500. Anath Katz Harari of Israel rounds out the top three with 153,000 chips. We caught up with Vuletic after the play concluded:

“How did I finish this way? Simple—I have a great read on my opponents, and today I was able to make the right decisions in every spot. Was I lucky? Luck always helps, but I feel like I played well and showed solid poker today. Hopefully, I can do the same on Sunday.”

“Am I a professional? Let’s say halfway between an amateur and a pro. I come here often, especially to King’s.”
