Entries 357/Left 59
It was an exciting day for the hundreds of players who filled the Perla Resort & Entertainment poker room to participate in the IPO Nova Gorica, with two flights scheduled just a few hours apart.
Day 1D, the first on the schedule, saw 357 entries, bringing another 59 players to Day 2 tomorrow afternoon for 140 qualifiers.
Antonio De Lucci stood out as the best player today thanks to an extraordinary performance that saw him nearly reach the one million mark (the second-highest stack overall after Carmela Damaso, the chip leader from Day 1B), with 917,000. Here’s what he shared with us at the end of the day:
“How did it go today? I was lucky! Let’s just say I saw a lot of action; I had Aces and Kings several times… The table was quite easy, and when the cards were running well, everything became easier. I finished as the chip leader on a Day 1 for the first time.
At blinds 600/1.2K, I already had 300,000 chips because I hit the Ten with my pocket Tens in a three-way showdown against K-K and A-Q. From then on, I started playing aggressively and finished with a great stack.”
The Top 5
Right behind Antonio De Lucci is Sebastiano Scarcelli (first photo, top right) in second place with 600,000 chips, followed by Igor Saia (former IPT champion) with 454,000.
Luca Delfino, with 451,000, and Francesco Rosato, with 416,000, are among the top five. Below is the complete list of the five9 qualifiers from Day 1D who will advance to Day 2.
