Entries 71 / Left 9
The day's play here at the King's Resort in Rozvadov at the 51st edition of the Italian Poker Sport has come to an end, with 9 qualified for Day 2 through Day 1 B Speed.
A total of 71 entries were made last night, which added to the 101 on the opening day bringing the count to 171. A small curiosity: the IPS of records, the one played last February, counted 160 entries after the first two Day 1s, 11 less than those recorded so far...
The best of the 9 survivors is the Czech Jakub Chmelensky (photo above) with 700,000 chips, who in the hot interview expressed all his happiness for this small achievement:
"I came here just to have fun," says Jakub, "also because I don't have much time to devote to poker in general, and for about 6 levels I always stayed with a rather small stack until luck began to turn in my favor.
The most important hand? Full house versus full house, Aces and Dames versus Sixes and Dames. I used to play more assiduously, especially online, but now poker is just a pleasant hobby."
The Top 5
Unlike Day1A the biggest stacks didn't even come close to a million and in fact, in second place in the count, we find Germany's Bryan Voeller with 620,000 chips tucked into the bag.
Third place went to compatriot Florian Bock (425,000), while in fourth and fifth place was another German, Jingwei Chen at 384,000 and Romanian Laurentiu Avram (364,000).
The only Italian qualifier in this flight answers to the name of Marco Vadini, 7th at 342,000 (remember that at the close of the Day, the level of the blinds is 6K/12K).
