Entries 43/ Left 5
The second day of play here at King’s Resort has come to an end, with the conclusion of Day 2 of the 53rd edition of the Italian Poker Sport.
A total of 43 entries were recorded today, 7 fewer than those registered on the opening day. However, the number of qualifiers remains unchanged: 5 yesterday and 5 today.
The action was stopped at the 14th level, as 10% of the field was reached (5 players are counted even though there were 43 entries, as the calculation rounds up), just like yesterday.
Germany’s "Blackrock" (pic below) takes the spotlight, jumping to the top of the overall chip count, narrowly surpassing the Day 1A chip leader, thanks to the 718,000 chips bagged at the end of the day. Here are his post-game remarks:
“It was a particularly positive day. I didn’t build a stack early on, but I managed to win some key spots towards the end of the day, putting myself in a comfortable position that allowed me to take control of the table. I’m happy with my performance today, and I hope to do just as well on Sunday’s Day 2.”
The Top 5
Just like yesterday, the Top 5 corresponds to the total number of qualifiers, so let’s recap the 5 players already guaranteed a seat at Day 2 on Sunday afternoon.
In first position is the aforementioned Blackrock with 718,000 chips, followed by Czech player Jakub Sterba with 620,000. In third is Ukrainian Dmitro Kakaliev with 408,000, while Romanian Cristian Dinu Ciria and German Alexander Schill take the fourth and fifth spots with 198,000 and 126,000 chips, respectively.
