🇩🇪 "Shakkal" takes down IPS Day1 G!

Entries 741/ Left 86

The first of the two flights scheduled for today, Day 1G Normal with 40-minute levels, concluded around 11 PM with 86 qualifiers out of 741 entries.

Up to this point, 125 players qualified for Day 2. Adding today’s 86 brings the total to 213 players who are guaranteed to move on to the next step out of 1,782 entries (1,041 from previous days and 741 from Day 1G).

The standout player of the day, and the only one with over 1.5 million chips, making him the undisputed chip leader in the overall ranking, is the German "Shakkal". Here are his thoughts right after play:

It was a difficult start. I dropped down to 20K very quickly, but I managed to climb back up by handling some tricky situations. I pulled off a big bluff with an open-ended draw, making my opponent fold Top Two Pair. The biggest pot, about one million chips, was a cooler in my favour with Aces against Queens.

I’m not a professional, but I play regularly and love the game. I’ve had some good results but never won a five-figure prize. Maybe this time will be the one!

The Top 5

Taking a quick look at the top 5, in addition to the day’s leader Shakkal with 1,515,000 chips, we have the English player Attila Janos Almasi with 1,208,000, followed by the Italian Eugenio Piana with 1,046,000.

Rounding out the top 5 is another Italian, Franco Cozzola, with 997,000, and the Romanian Cristian Ilie Visoiu, with 943,000. To see the full list of the 86 qualifiers, take a look at the table below for their respective stacks and positions.
