The thrill at the beginning of this event, after the European record for a live tournament set at the 50th anniversary with 5,166 entries, is tangible, and, after more than five months, we are pleased to welcome you to the 51st edition of the Italian Poker Sport.

Throughout the week, starting from the evening just gone, the qualifying flights will be available to access the final phase of the tournament. In fact, Day1 A Speed is already history thanks to the 77 players who appeared at the starting line, which together with the 24 re-entries generated 101 entries, bringing the first 10 qualified for Day2 next Sunday.
The Top 5
Despite what happens most of the time at Day1 A and B, normally with a considerably lower turnout than at the weekend, we even have two players capable of exceeding one million chips.
We're obviously talking about the chip leader of the day, Austrian "AL", who on the opening day of the IPS even managed to close at 1,104,000 chips, just a handful of blinds more than his direct pursuer, German "BENZA", second at 1,094,000.

The third and fourth place came from France: Frederic Marc Grosjean took the bottom step of the podium with 663,000, and Axel Bayout followed at a distance with 498,000.
Fifth in the provisional ranking is another German, "MACKMONEY", who managed to bag 491,000 chips at the end of the Day. The only Italian on the list is the last in the rankings, Gianluca Tocci: 145,000 chips for him to take to Day 2.
