Entries 158/ Left 20

Day 1C of the Italian Poker Sport Main Event with a €380 buy-in comes to an end after Day 1A and Day 1B, played during the opening week. The event recorded 158 entries, with 20 players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday.
The best performer of the day was Swiss player Jean Maillard, who ended with a stack of 893,000 chips, placing him in seventh position in the overall chip count, just behind Romanian player Mousa with 895,000. Here’s what today’s standout player had to say before leaving the table:

“Today felt like a roller coaster. The first two levels went great, and I doubled my stack immediately. Then, for four to five hours, nothing happened, and I just tried to survive until the key hand of the day, where I called my opponent’s all-in with King-high, holding K-J, and found myself up against K-10.”
“With more room to manoeuvre, the following levels went better, but the hand that truly boosted my stack was a flip I won near the end of the day. It was a huge pot. My opponent had been playing very aggressively and had three-bet me four times already. At that point, I decided to four-bet shove my pocket pair, got called by A-K, and the flip went my way.”
“It’s the first time I finished as a chip leader in a Day 1 at King’s, although not my first time overall. Hopefully, I can make the most of this stack on Day 2.”
