Alex Sampirisi opened to 400,000 from UTG, and Jean-Marc Chiba responded with an all-in for 1,100,000. Sampirisi called, holding the lead with A♦10♠ against Chiba’s K♦J♦. The flop A♥10♥2♥ immediately gave Sampirisi two pair, and the remaining board (7♦, 4♠) confirmed Chiba’s elimination.
Delfoco Out in 7th place
Sampirisi raised to 400,000 from UTG, and after others folded, Delfoco shoved for 1,650,000 from BB with A♦3♠. Sampirisi called with 8♥8♦, and the board 4♦4♠5♠5♦6♠ didn’t help Delfoco, who exited in 7th place for €19,180.
Zuczkowski Busts VS Sampirisi’s Straight
Xavier Zuczkowski raised to 400,000 from the cutoff, and Sampirisi defended from BB. On the 7♣4♦A♥ flop, Zuczkowski bet 300,000, and Sampirisi check-raised to 800,000, which Zuczkowski called. The turn 5♥ saw Sampirisi check, prompting Zuczkowski to go all-in for 1,675,000, and Sampirisi snap-called. Zuczkowski held A♣K♠ for top pair, but Sampirisi’s 6♥3♦ gave him a straight. The 7♦ river didn’t change the outcome, eliminating Zuczkowski.
Deal Negotiations
With five players remaining, the table paused the clock to discuss a deal. However, no agreement was reached after a short exchange, and play resumed.
Perati Rivers Sampirisi: 5th Place
Mario Perati shoved for 8,000,000 from SB, with Sampirisi calling from BB for his last 7,025,000. Sampirisi had the advantage with A♦9♦ against Perati’s J♦7♥, but the river J♠ dashed his hopes, sending Sampirisi out in 5th place for €34,140.
Di Domenico Finishes in 4th Place
Francesco Di Domenico pushed all-in for 1,100,000 from the button and was called by Hervé Gouzil in SB and Perati in BB. The board ran out 6♥7♠4♣2♣9♠ with all three players checking, and Perati’s pair of 3s (3♠3♣) beat Di Domenico’s A♦5♥, who exited in 4th place.
Sbrana Busts in 3rd with A-6
Down to 12BB, Matteo Sbrana shoved with A-6 offsuit over Gouzil’s open from the button, who called with A-3 offsuit. The 7-9-3 flop gave Gouzil a winning pair, and despite a 10 on the turn opening a few outs for Sbrana, the river was a blank, ending his run in 3rd place for €64,000.
Perati wins After Crushing Gouzil’s Top Pair
It was Mario Perati’s moment to shine as he captured a series of pots, building his stack to almost double that of Hervé Gouzil. Perati opened to 1,500,000, only to face a three-bet from Gouzil to 3,600,000 from BB. Perati called, and the flop K♦6♣7♥ hit the table. Gouzil led out with a 2,500,000 bet, and Perati responded by moving all-in, with Gouzil snap-calling for his tournament life at 13,000,000.
Holding K♠10♣, Gouzil was ahead with top pair, but Perati’s 9♥8♦ gave him a straight draw. The turn 10♥ completed Perati’s straight, securing him the WSOP-C Sanremo Main Event title after the 9♦ river. Gouzil claimed second place and a €100,000 prize, while Perati celebrated his victory as the new champion.
