🇩🇪 Ahmad Hiyasi gets off to a rocket start on Day1 A!

Entries 57/ Left 6

Day 1A of the €500,000 guaranteed People’s Poker Tour Main Event, currently taking place here at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, concluded slightly earlier than the scheduled 16 levels of play.

With only seven players remaining by the 15th level, the day's last elimination didn't take long. Per the rules, the action was stopped after reaching 10% of the field, leaving six players out of the 57 total entries.

Stealing the spotlight on this inaugural day was Ahmad Hiyasi (pictured above), who bagged an impressive 631,000 chips at the end of the day, equivalent to 52 big blinds when the action resumes. Here are his thoughts at the end of the day:

A few days ago, I finished 6th in the €300K guaranteed event, not without a few regrets about the hand that knocked me out… Maybe luck has decided to repay me here at the PPTour!

I am of Iranian origin from Kurdistan, and I manage a medical clinic. I’ve been playing poker for 40 years, but I’m also pretty good at billiards and backgammon. I even spent three weeks in Monte Carlo playing one of them!

The Top 5

Right behind the chip leader Ahmad Hiyasi with 631,000, we find Czech player Jiri Heidtke with 625,000, followed by his fellow countryman Stanislav Polacek with 620,000.

Rounding out the Top 5 are Italian player Bruno De Rosa (559,000) and Kosovar Milaim Ajdari (280,000). To ensure no one is left out, as we only have 6 qualifiers, we also mention Salvatore Bifulco, who sits at the bottom of the count with 135,000. Below is the full chip count for the day
