Davide Ceglia by a inch over Trainotti on Day 2

Entries 618 / Left 24

At 5 p.m. sharp, the 190 Day2 qualifiers filed into the room to try and make it to the final round of the ReMida Poker Team, which kicked off this afternoon from 2 p.m. onwards.

Only 24 made it, while 49 secured the €800 minimum prize. And do you know who was the 50th eliminated? The day's chip leader Lorenzo Gaeta, according to what he told us, didn't have it easy.

The 618 entries totaled in the five qualifying flights generated a prize pool of €160,000 (and change), of which €20,000 was reserved for the team ranking.

Davide Ceglia (photo below) took first place in the provisional count, by just 10,000 chips, to the detriment of Enrico Trainotti (Day1 B chipleader): 4,165,000 for the former, 4,155,000 for the latter, side by side in the last phase of the Day.

"It was a peculiar tournament, in two days I did not see a single monster," says chip leader Davide Ceglia of the JokerClub team, "the only one was the last hand of the tournament, I saw Aces. For the rest, a Pair of Tens and a Pair of Eights... How did I chip? Well, I tied well! 😜 He kind of took them from me! - he says referring to Enrico Trainotti (photo below), who adds:

"For me, at least at the beginning since I started from the first positions of the count, everything went well. Then my Kings burst almost immediately and I was short stack, came back up with some good shots and once I changed tables I won a nice pot, to him (referring to Davide) with a well-disguised set. My team? I am without a team."

The Top 10

The virtual podium is completed by Attila Janosi (photo below) of 'The Club No deal' team from Bologna, who bags 3,180,000, or about double the tournament average. He is followed by his teammate Federico Lenzi, at 2,930,000.

Starting from ninth in the count, he managed to keep himself always above average and then won a third of the stack on the very last hand, Aces against K-Qs holding despite the bogey of a Jack that on A-10-7 could have made his opponent's straight flush.

With five players out of five on Day 2, 3 ITMs, and 2 behind the leaders with 24 left, "The Club No Deal" will be the team to beat this afternoon when play resumes.

In fifth place is the Day1 E Speed chipleader played this morning from 12.30, Konstantin Speer, with 2,255,000 chips.

Sixth and seventh place goes to Adrian Lovin (Team CEI MAI BUNI) and Alessandro Giombetti (photo below): 2,070,000 for the former, finalist in the last edition, and 1,985,000 for his pursuer, the protagonist of a spot to the death with Maurizio Migliorini.

After defending the BB (the two play almost the same stack with over 50 big blinds each) Giombetti decides to check-raise Migliorini's c-bet putting 175K in the pot against the 60K bet by his opponent (we are at 12/24K blinds) on Q♠️ 9♠️ 5♣️.

Maurizio thinks about it for a while and decides to 3-bet to 410K, leaving 800K behind. Giombetti goes in the tank for about five minutes, then puts them all in within two of the bubble. Just enough time to do some theatre and Migliorini (pictured below) passes without making a big deal out of it. He is the sole survivor of Team Golden Boys in eighth place at 1,820,000.

Closing out the provisional Top 10 ahead of this afternoon's Final Day are Besian Gashi at 1,700,000 and Alessandro Cocchia at 1,630,000.

Watch out for the winner of the last edition, David Testen (Team Perla Lovers, photo below), who with his 1.225 million occupies 13th position in the count, preceded by Mubarek Durmiši of Team "Jokerstars" by just one blind.
