The second flight scheduled for today, Day1 H, has also ended, adding another 32 entries to the previous 210 collected between Day1 F and G. This brings the total for the third block of Day1 to 96, obviously waiting for the last turbo flight at noon.
Thanks to the total number of entries, the guaranteed prize pool of 300,000 Swiss francs has been amply surpassed, with one Day1 still to be played. This demonstrates the excellent work carried out by the staff and the high level of satisfaction of the players in this splendid tournament played in the equally splendid setting of the Grand Casino in Bendern, Liechtenstein.
Stefano Iolli (photo below) closed on top with 416,000, who will start from the 5th position on Day 2 C, bypassing ‘Mexxess’ (Day1 F chip leader).
‘It was my third bullet this evening, and it wasn't going great until, at one point, at 1K/2K blinds, after a raise and two calls, I shove 2-7 off and somewhat ironically say, “Well, that's my hand.” I go all-in for about 20 blinds, and only one player calls with K-Q.
A 2 on the turn gave me the best hand, and from then on, I started grinding. The best hand? A hero call with Pair of Fives on the board Q-3-4-7-3, where we both checked to the river. I made 21K, he went all-in, and I called, finding my opponent with A-J. I told my girlfriend this is my tournament, and I'm convinced!
The Top 5
