šŸ¦ˆ Angelo Alvisi is the Sharkbay ME winner!

Entries 975

The final phase of the Sharkbay main event ended rather quickly, with Angelo Alvisi triumphing after spreading the prizes to 3 left, thanks to the early eliminations of the other 5 competitors, Davide Nutarelli above all. Before going into details, however, here are the winner's words:

"I still can't realize what happened! - said Angelo at the end of the tournament - This is my first FT. I would like to thank all the coaches who have followed me up to last year and who came to my mind at different stages of the tournament.

I'm an English teacher and I play more for passion than as a job, although I don't mind playing a few online sessions or passing by Mello's poker room from time to time, which by the way kept calling me 'miracolato' and when it does, the tournament always goes well!

I was aware that I could do well because I started with one of the biggest stacks, of course, if at Day 1 they had even told me that I would have made the final table I would not have believed it, but instead...

How did I manage to achieve this result? A mix of luck and skill because to tell the truth they held up both when I was starting in front and when I was at a disadvantage."

And now let's review the final table together, elimination by elimination, reminding you that you can review the action in streaming on our Youtube channel by CLICKING HERE.

Davide Nutarelli is the eighth-place finisher

Blinds 100K/200K, ante 200K

Ready, go and here comes the first elimination: Marco Gambini (stack 44BB) opens with Aā™£ļø Kā™ ļø from BTN, Davide Nutarelli from BB pins Aā™„ļø 10ā™„ļø (stack 14BB) and goes all-in, snap-call for Gambini and it's a showdown.

BOARD: 10ā™ ļø 6ā™„ļø 5ā™¦ļø 9ā™ ļø Kā™„ļø

Despite the Ten on the flop, Lady Luck decides to turn her back on the Tuscan grinder right on the river with a Kā™„ļø that sends Gambini into orbit. Nutarelli cashed for ā‚¬8,960 and got out from the last longer, won by Bartolomeo TatĆ², Angelo Alvisi, and Paolo Mercuri.

Bartolomeo TatĆ² ends up in 7th place

Blinds 100K/200K, ante 200K

Signoriello opened from UTG with Qā™£ļø Jā™£ļø, TatĆ² from BB saw Aā™„ļø Aā™£ļø and didn't even think for a second about putting in his 7BB, obviously finding his opponent's call. Showdown time:

BOARD: 5ā™ ļø 8ā™£ļø 9ā™„ļø 6ā™ ļø 10ā™„ļø

With a straight flush on the river, Signoriello manages to "bust" his opponent's Aces, sending him home early with a ā‚¬12,096 prize (plus a White Wolf package won thanks to last longer).

Paolo Armenio eliminated in 6th place

Blinds 125K/200K, ante 250K

Paolo Armenio from BTN (25BB stack), opens with Aā™£ļø Jā™ ļø, from SB Paolo Mercuri (with about 40BB) goes directly all-in with 10ā™„ļø 10ā™£ļø, the BB folds and Armenio calls. One more showdown gentlemen:

BOARD: 9ā™ ļø 3ā™„ļø Qā™„ļø 4ā™£ļø 3ā™¦ļø

Paolo Armenio closes in 6th place for ā‚¬16,128 in prize money, while Mercuri moves into the upper zones of the countdown with 5 left.

Alessandro SignorielloĀ is the 5th-place finisher

Blinds 125K/200K, ante 250K

Gambini from BTN raises with Aā™„ļø 4ā™„ļø (stack over 60BB), Signoriello from BB finds Kā™„ļø Qā™ ļø and goes all-in for about 18BB, Gambini thinks about it a bit and calls. It still goes to showdown:

BOARD: 3ā™„ļø Jā™„ļø 7ā™„ļø 2ā™¦ļø 3ā™£ļø

The game is practically over already on the flop as Gambini folds his flush to the Ace and 5th position for Signoriello who takes home a ā‚¬21,504 prize. Gambini flies to 84BB.

Here is a recap of the situation at 4 left:

Marco Gambini 84BB

Paolo Mercuri 63BB

Angelo Alvisi 39BB

Dario Sorrenti 7BB

Dario Sorrenti finished in 4th place

Blinds 150K/300K, ante 300K

Despite doubling up with 7BB (A-3s < K-Qo), Dario Sorrenti failed to make up ground on his opponents and capitulated against Gambini like this:

Mercuri opens with A-8o from UTG, "just call" for Gambini with 7ā™ ļø 7ā™„ļø, all-in from SB for Sorrenti with 6ā™„ļø 6ā™£ļø (17BB stack), original raiser passes and Gambini calls. Showdown time!

BOARD: 10ā™ ļø Jā™£ļø Qā™„ļø 3ā™„ļø Qā™¦ļø

Gambini flies to 95BB, followed by Mercuri at 65 and Alvisi at 35, while Sorrenti sits in the cashier's box to collect the ā‚¬27,776 prize reserved for 4th place.

Break and new blinds level

Blinds 200K/400K, ante 400K

We go into the first break of the day, for a quarter of an hour, to allow the three survivors to discuss a financial settlement.

Here's the stack situation:

  1. Mercuri Paolo 15,950,000

  2. Gambini Marco 18,325,000

  3. Alvisi Angelo 14,475,000

After reviewing the figures together with the TD, the payout is reshaped in this way to smooth out the differences between the prizes.

  1. 63.288ā‚¬

  2. 60.760ā‚¬

  3. 59.044ā‚¬

Paolo Mercuri gets out in 3rd place

200K/400K, ante 400K

Alvisi opens from BTN with Aā™£ļø 8ā™£ļø, Mercuri from SB pins Aā™ ļø Jā™ ļø and goes all-in for about 22BB, BB passes and Alvisi calls after thinking a while. Here's the showdown:

BOARD: 6ā™ ļø 10ā™£ļø 6ā™£ļø 5ā™£ļø Kā™ ļø

Mercuri is the third-place finisher and cashes for ā‚¬59,044 as a result of the deal reached with the other two runners-up. It's heads-up time!

Marco Gambini runner-up, Angelo Alvisi gets the trophy!

250K/500K, ante 500K

Left very short after a few pre-flop fights, Gambini found himself at the rests with Aā™¦ļø Qā™£ļø against Kā™¦ļø Jā™„ļø.

BOARD: 4ā™ ļø 6ā™£ļø Jā™¦ļø Kā™£ļø 9ā™ ļø

Gambini can still rejoice at his excellent result and ā‚¬60,760 prize, while Angelo Alvisi can lift the trophy to the sky on his birthday, giving himself a ā‚¬63,288 gift!
