Entries 91/ Left 30
Day 1 of the Shark Bay Main Event, with a €330 buy-in, has concluded, with 30 players qualifying out of 91 entries. Everything is set for Day 2, which is scheduled to start in the adjacent room at 17:30.
Despite the excitement, we managed to gather today’s Top 5 and announce that Mitja Rudolf, the chip leader, stands out as the best of the day with 367,000 chips. This is what he shared with us at the end of Day 1.
“My day? Quite an adventure… It started by avoiding a hand that would have knocked me out of the tournament by just flat-calling a 3-bet instead of 4-betting (it turns out my opponent had Aces). Later, I ran into a nasty cooler and had to re-enter, but I decided to do so only in the final minutes of late registration.
Once back in, I found four spots where I managed to build my stack: a hero call with Ace-high on the Turn and River, a preflop showdown, a hand with A-Q vs K-K preflop against Aris Theodoridis, and the final hand where I flopped quads on K-K-K with my opponent, who only defended Aces from the big blind against my open. That’s the story!”
