Entries 66/Left 14

The first of today’s two scheduled flights, Day 1E of The Warriors Main Event, has wrapped up, recording a total of 66 entries and sending 14 players to Sunday’s Day 2.

The best performer of the day is known more by their nickname than their real name, “83-83” from Switzerland, who bagged 371,000 chips to claim the top spot in the chip count. Here’s what they had to say at the end of the day:

It was a particularly calm day, except for one spot where I was very lucky. After betting on the flop with my top pair, having opened with Jack and 10, I went all-in on the turn despite a king showing up.

My opponent called with a king in hand. Fortunately, a second jack on the river gave me a pretty big pot, allowing me to play the rest of the day more comfortably and finish with an excellent stack for tomorrow. Let’s hope to do well.
