It was quite a marathon that involved the 114 survivors coming from all the Day 1s of this Warriors Main Event, which is taking place at the GC Poker Room in Bendern, Liechtenstein.
It was especially so for those who started at 13:00 with the turbo flight, the last available to access the next phase, like Emil Bise who managed to bag the fourth largest stack at the end of the day.
The chipleader
Leading the count is Swiss Thomas Hofmann 3,620,000, who managed to increase his stack tenfold in the space of a day, allowing himself to start from the best position at this afternoon's shuffle up and deal:
"I started with 350,000 chips and in the first three levels of play I had a Pair of Kings three times: in two out of three cases, I found myself all-in preflop against A-K and my hand held up both times! The final day? Let's see what will happen, there are still 16 of us, anything can happen."
The Top Five
He started from third in the count and we are not surprised to see him in second place in the overall count. We are talking about the Swiss Fatos Haxhaj, who managed to increase his haul from the initial 640,000 chips to 2,635,000.
Not too far behind is another Swiss, Claudio Piceci, at 2,485,000, while fourth and fifth place goes to Emil Bise, mentioned above with 2,300,000, and DG (1,660,000) respectively, for a 100% Swiss Top 5.
The only Italian still in the running is Claudio Baldini, 13th with 1,000,000, and the rest is Swiss dominance, except for 4 German players (Johann Schamne, Day 1-D chip leader, is the best in 6th with 1,630,000) and a Turkey's "Champion1905" (15th with 925,000).
The tournament payout and unofficial chip count based on players' verbal declarations follow. The action at the GC Poker Room will resume from 13:00 with 50-minute levels until 9 left and 60 throughout the final table.
