šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ Giuseppe Biancoviso does great at Day1 B

Entries 52/ Left 17

Eleven levels of play and 17 qualifiers out of 52 total entries, including re-entries. These are the numbers from Day 1 B of the Wolf High Roller played on Friday 19 January at the GCPoker Room in Bendern, Liechtenstein.

Numbers bring the total number of entries to 101, with still two flights available before Day 2 on Sunday and the Final Day scheduled for Monday.

The best of them all was an Italian, Giuseppe Biancoviso (photo above), who came in with a stack of 572,000 chips at the time of the envelopes:

"In the first few hours I hardly moved a chip," Giuseppe said at the end of the day, "then after a few levels the spot that turned the tournament around finally arrived. How? I had K-10 of Spades and my opponent had 9-7, also of Spades: we both hit a flush on the river and ended up all-in.

It was a 350,000-chip pot; from then on, it was simply a matter of managing the stack and attacking in the right situations. Yes, I've closed a Day 1 as a chip leader before and generally managed to achieve some nice prizes, does that bode well for me this time too? We'll see!"

The Top 5

Many regulars from the GCPoker Room were present today and just as many qualified for Day 2 on Sunday. Second in the count is another Italian, Luca Lombardi, who closed at 355,200 followed by Mariano Monti at 355,200.

"Firefly" (315,000) and "Damage" (298,000) also qualified, at least as far as the first five positions are concerned.

A sensational 6th place for "@POSITIV_CHI" (289,200): left with few blinds he first managed to climb back up to just over 100,000 chips and then, in the last hand of the day, won a three-way showdown with A-Q against Q-10s and 8-8 by drawing a Q on the river on the board K-K-9-5.

White Wolf finalist Ciprian Bucatariu (206,900), "Yana" (4th place finisher at White Wolf, with 82,000 chips), and White Wolf winner Dorjan Ushe (63,000) also passed. The full list of 17 qualifiers follows.
